About Me

Hey All,

My name is Ada and I wanted to write a little blog as to how I came into making turbans and how I'm slowing growing my business.

So, lets start from the beginning, when I was 26 I decided to follow through with a life long dream of mine and I applied to become an Au Pair in America, I found a beautiful family in a town called Los Altos which is based in the silicon valley in California. So in August of 2014 I packed my life in a suitcase and flew over to New York for training school then flew back to San Francisco, I was living the absolute dream, met a bunch of great girls and we partied it up, cause you know, California knows how to party! I was having a blast, little did I know the best was yet to come, I decided to extend for another 12 months, and not long into my second year, I met my baby daddy. We hit it off straight away and had many exciting adventures together, but sadly as all good things do, my time came to an end. I flew home with the intensions of applying for another visa and moving back, little did I know I came home with a little extra package.... so of course, I stayed in Tasmania to have my Daughter, Kenzington.

I wanted to make her something to represent her African American heritage so I searched the internet on making headwear, which is when I came across what is now, our Classic Turban. I sewed and sewed and sewed until I perfected it, and once I did, I was then lucky enough to have the opportunity to sell them in an amazing local shop, which I love and from there I opened a shop on Etsy, created an Instagram and the rest is history....

My whole purpose of creating Kenzie's Crown was to provide you with affordable but stylish headwear, because at the end of the day I'm just a mum on an average wage who cant afford expensive "name brand" things for my child who will grow out of everything in less then 3-6 months.

I'm having so much fun with it and I love seeing my little business grow and getting so many pictures back from my customers in their turbans, its the best part about it all.

Thank you all so much for your love and support, I hope you love all the new things that are coming to Kenzie's Crown.

Love Ada xx
